It will be holy week in a few days. In the past years, I have shared how my family has spent those solemn days. As a way of catching up, I am sharing snapshots of the Visita Iglesia we did last year.

I am blessed that I was able to spend quality time with my family again. I have finally graduated out of law school! The trip was my much needed break before I started reviewing for that same year's bar exams. I forgot how liberating it felt to not have to check my watch.

We got older and I somehow regret not being able to witness my family age. Being away to pursue further studies took that wonder away from me. I'm just happy and thankful for every chance I get to be with everyone of them. I love them even if we sometimes do not share the same views in life. They are unconditionally there for me. Lucky for me, they don't have any other choice.

This year's lent is different than every other lent there ever was in my lifetime. The world is fighting a pandemic, COVID-19. How we celebrate lent now has been modified to keep everyone safe and healthy. My father keeps on telling me that everything that is happening has something to do with God's plans. I want to feel comfort with what he said because I cannot make sense of all the chaos. However, questions linger inside my tiny head - Is it really all part of His divine plan? What is His purpose? Does asking these count as blasphemy? Because that is not my intention.

I have my faith in the universe. The least I could do and that which I could not possibly mess up is to pray.

I pray for the world to heal and for everyone to be reminded not to take life and our planet for granted. I pray protection for everyone especially to the front-line and health workers, the vulnerable population, and my loved ones around the globe. I pray for peace and camaraderie among nations. May we all get through this together with His grace.
I hope you will have a solemn and memorable celebration of lent this year. Take care.
